To change Blockbit administration password via CLI (Command Line), you must access the equipment via SSH or serial cable (using PuTTY as mentioned).
Important Request
It is essential to highlight that you need to have the current password of admin user. Access to the terminal for execution of the exchange command requires a successful login in advance. If the password has been completely lost and login is not possible, this method will not work.
Step by Step
Access terminal: Open PuTTY (or another SSH client) and connect to your Blockbit IP.
Log in: Enter the user (admin) and current password when requested.
Execute command: After log in, enter the following command and press Enter:
reset admin-password (version 2.5+)
reset-admin-password (previous versions)
Set new password: The system will request you to enter the new password (Type admin password) and then confirm it (Re-type admin password).
After confirmation, the admin user password will be updated for web access.
